PRECAUTIONS

• Use only in a 12-volt DC negative-ground electrical

system.

• Disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery terminal

while mounting and connecting the unit.

•

When replacing the fuse, be sure to use one with an

identical amperage rating. Using a fuse with a higher

amperage rating may cause serious damage to the unit.

• Do NOT attempt to disassemble the unit. Laser beams

from the optical pickup are dangerous to the eyes.

• Make sure that pins or other foreign objects do not get

inside the unit; they may cause malfunctions, or create

safety hazards such as electrical shock or laser-beam

exposure.

• When your vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight

resulting in a considerable rise in the temperature

inside, allow the unit to cool off before operating it.

• Keep the volume at a level at which you can hear

outside warning sounds (horns, sirens, etc.).

CAUTION

Modifications or adjustments to this product that are not

expressly approved by the manufacturer may void the

user’s right or authority to operate this product.

In addition to ordinary CDs, CD-Rs or CD-RWs can

be read by this unit. However, NEVER use a CD-R or

CD-RW that contains no data or data in the wrong

format, such as MP3 or other computer files.

For installation and connections, refer to the separate

“INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS”.

Use of controls or adjustments or performance of

procedures other than those specified herein may result

in hazardous radiation exposure.

This compact disc player is classified as a CLASS 1

LASER product. The CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT label

is located on the exterior.

CD Notes

• Playing a defective or dusty CD can

cause dropouts in sound.

• Hold CDs as illustrated.

• Do NOT touch the unlabeled side.

• Do NOT attach any seal, label or

data protection sheet to either side of a disc.

• Do NOT expose a CD to direct sunlight or excessive

heat.

• Wipe a dirty CD from the center outward with a cleaning

cloth.

Never use solvents such as benzine or alcohol.

• This unit cannot play 3-inch (8 cm) CDs.

• NEVER insert a 3-inch CD contained in the adapter or

any irregularly shaped CD.

The unit may not be able to eject it, resulting in a

Resetting the unit

Before operating the unit for the first time or after

replacing the car battery, you must reset the unit.

Press the reset button with a pointed object such as a

pencil.

Note

Pressing the reset button will erase the clock and some

memorized functions.

DEMO (Demonstration) mode

The unit has an extra display (DEMO) mode which

demonstrates the illumination modes of the unit. The

unit switches to DEMO mode automatically if you turn

the unit on and leave it as it is for 5 seconds after all the

connections have been completed.

To cancel DEMO mode

1 Press and hold SRC (SOURCE) until “CONT.”

appears on the display.

2 Press t or r until “DEMO.” appears on the

display.

3 Press + or - to select “OFF”.

To resume DEMO mode, select “ON” in step 3.

THEFT PROTECTION

(Retractable Front Panel)

When your car’s ignition switch is turned off, the front

panel will be retracted automatically as if there were no

car audio in the console.

When the ignition switch is set to the ACC or ON

position, the front panel will appear automatically.

Note

Do not touch and put excessive pressure on the front

panel while it is rotating.

You can also detach the upper part of the panel while the

front panel appears.

Take the front panel with you when leaving the car, and

keep it in the supplied carrying case.

Detaching the front panel

Before detaching the front panel, remove the CD to

prevent possible damage to the unit.

1 Press z to remove the CD.

2 Press the panel upward to close it.

3 Press and hold PWR/ATT until the unit turns off.

4 Press RELEASE. (Hold the panel with one hand to

prevent accidentally dropping it.)

5 Remove the panel.

Attaching the front panel

If the ignition switch is turned off while the upper part of

the panel is being detached, the lower part of the panel

will be retracted automatically.

If the ignition switch is set to the ACC or ON position, the

lower part of the panel will appear automatically. Then

attach the upper part of the panel.

1 Set the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position so

that the lower part of the panel appears.

2 Engage the left side of the front panel to the left catch

on the unit.

3 Push the panel forward until it locks. Be sure not to

press any buttons while you are attaching the panel.

Note

Do not touch the connectors on the bottom of the upper

panel and the top of the lower panel. This could cause

a poor or faulty connection.

Turning the unit on/off

• You can turn the unit on by pressing PWR/ATT, +/-

/r/t and SRC (SOURCE). The unit also turns on

when you press z and insert a CD.

• Press and hold PWR/ATT until the unit turns off.

Note

Most operations described in this manual require the

unit to be turned on before starting the operation,

unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Changing the source mode

1 Press SRC (SOURCE).

Pressing SRC (SOURCE) cycles through source

modes in the following order:

* “DISC” does not appear on the display when there is

no CD in the unit.

Adjusting the volume

1 Press + or -.

VOL (volume) indication appears.

Muting the sound

1 Press PWR/ATT briefly.

“ATT ON” appears on the display.

To restore volume, briefly press PWR/ATT again.

Adjusting sound

You can select the following modes for adjusting sound

depending on the music you listen to: BASS (low

frequencies), TRE (high frequencies), BAL (left/right),

FAD (front/rear), H-BASS (high bass)*, DSSA (Drivers

Sound Stage Adjustment)** and BBE***.

* You can reinforce the bass sound.

** You can adjust sound stage and tone balance to best

serve a particular seat in the car.

*** You can enhance the clarity of high-frequency sound.

1 Press S (SEL) repeatedly to select the mode to be

adjusted.

Pressing S (SEL) cycles through the modes. The

selected mode appears on the display.

2 Press + or - to increase or decrease the level for

the selected mode (except for H-BASS, DSSA and

BBE).

In H-BASS mode, press + or - to select 1, 2, 3, or

OFF.

In DSSA mode, press + or - to select L (for the

front left seat), R (for the front right seat), or OFF.

In BBE mode, press + or - to select 1, 2, or OFF.

Notes

• Adjust the level or select an item within 5 seconds, or

the selected mode will return to previous state.

• When DSSA is activated, you cannot adjust BAL and

FAD.

Aligning the source levels

(Source Level Adjuster)

Volume may vary each time you change the source

mode. In this case, you can align each source mode’s

volume to almost the same level.

1 Press SRC (SOURCE) repeatedly to select the

desired mode.

2 Press D (DSPL) while pressing S (SEL).

“LEVEL 0” appears on the display.

3 Press + or - to adjust the level.

Note

Adjust the level within 5 seconds, or this function will be

canceled.

Restoring the factory settings

1 Turn off the unit.

2 Press and hold D (DSPL) until “LEVEL --” appears

on the display.

Note

You can restore the factory settings only for VOL, BASS,

TRE, BAL, FAD, H-BASS, DSSA and BBE as well as

aligned source volume levels.

Setting the beep tone

1 Turn off the unit.

2 Press and hold S (SEL) until “BEEP” appears on the

display.

3 Press + or - to select “ON” or “OFF”.

4 Press S (SEL).

The unit turns off.

Setting the clock

1 Press and hold D (DSPL) until the clock indicator

flashes on the display.

2 Press r (to set hour) or t (to set minute)

and press + or -.

3 Press D (DSPL).

Displaying the clock

1 Press D (DSPL).

To return to the former display, press D (DSPL)

again.

RADIO OPERATION

Tuning in to a station

(Seek/Manual Tuning)

TU(TUNER)

Frequency indication

1 Press TU (TUNER) repeatedly to select the desired

band (

, , , or ).

2 Press t (to move to higher frequencies) or r

(to move to lower frequencies) to tune in to a station.

“ST” appears on the display when an FM station is

broadcasting in stereo, and receiving conditions are

good.

Seek Tuning and Manual Tuning

• Press and hold t or r until Seek Tuning

starts.

The unit locates a station automatically (Seek

Tuning).

To stop Seek Tuning, press t or r again.

• Press t or r repeatedly to search for a

desired station while increasing or decreasing the

frequency step by step (Manual Tuning).

Monaural mode

When FM signals become weak, or FM reception

becomes poor, the unit automatically switches to

Monaural mode to reduce noise.

Using preset stations

You must preset stations before you can tune in to a

station using preset station number buttons.

Presetting stations automatically

(Auto Memory)

1 Press TU (TUNER) repeatedly to select the desired

band (

, , , or ).

2 Press and hold PS/A.ME until automatic presetting

starts. “A MEM” appears on the display.

The unit automatically stores up to 6 stations for

each band.

After completion of automatic presetting, the unit

tunes in to all the stations stored on the preset

station buttons in order (Preset Scan).

To cancel automatic presetting, press PS/A.ME again.

Checking the preset stations (Preset Scan)

1 Press PS/A.ME briefly.

Each preset station will be tuned in for 5 seconds in

order.

To cancel Preset Scan, press PS/A.ME again or any

preset station button.

Presetting stations manually

(Manual Memory)

1 Press TU (TUNER) repeatedly to select the desired

band (

, , , or ).

2 Press t or r to tune in to a desired station (see

“Tuning in to a station,” page 4).

3 Press and hold the desired preset station button until

the unit beeps.

Note

A newly preset station replaces the station on the same

band that was previously stored on that preset station

button.

Tuning in to a preset station

1 Press TU (TUNER) repeatedly to select the desired

band (

, , , or ).

2 Press the preset station button on which the desired

station is stored.

Active tuning reception control (ATRC)

The unit automatically suppresses FM noise caused by

vehicle movement, and maintains sound quality.

Radio data system (RDS) features

The following RDS features are available with this unit.

Important

• The RDS features are available only during FM

reception.

• You may not be able to activate the RDS features fully

in the areas where the station is test-broadcasting the

RDS signals.

Tuning in to Alternative Frequency (AF)

stations

There are programs transmitted at different frequencies

in different areas. Along with the program itself, a RDS

station sends the AF list data that contains the frequencies

sending the same program. If the signal of the tuned-in

frequency becomes weak while you are driving, the unit

automatically searches the same program sent at another

stronger frequency according to the AF list, so that you

do not have to seek and tune in to the other frequency

again.

1 Press AF during FM reception to activate AF function.

“AF” appears on the display.*

* “AF” flashes when the unit cannot receive AF list

data.

Tuning in to an EON*, Traffic Program

(TP)

The unit automatically switches to FM reception and

tunes in to an EON, traffic announcement program when

the program starts.

* EON: Enhanced Other Network

1 Press TA during FM reception to activate TP function.

“TP” appears on the display.*

During reception, “TA” appears on the display.

* “TP” flashes when the unit cannot receive TP data.

To turn off TP function, press TA.

“TP” disappears.

Setting the volume of TP reception

When TP function is activated, the traffic announcement

program is tuned in at the volume set in the following

procedure regardless of the volume of the other source

at the time TP function is activated.

1 Press and hold AF until “BOOST 40” appears on the

display.

“BOOST 40” disappears approx. 5 seconds later.

2 Press + or - to select a volume level (0 to 80 in

increments of 5).

3 Press SEL.

Activating AF function and TP function at the

same time

1 Press AF, and then press TA.

“AF” and “TP” appear on the display.

Notes

• During MW or LW reception, the unit will not

automatically tune in to a traffic announcement

program. Be sure to select “

/ / ,” “CD,” or

“AUX IN” to activate TP function.

• When the unit tunes in to a traffic announcement

program by way of TP function, you can increase the

volume, but cannot decrease it.

• When the traffic announcement program finishes, the

unit automatically returns to the previous state.

Tuning in to a station by specifying a

Program Type (PTY)

1 Press and hold TA until “PRO-TYPE” appears on

the display.

“PRO-TYPE” disappears approx. 5 seconds later.

2 While “PRO-TYPE” is displayed, press one of the

preset station buttons* for more than 0.5 seconds to

select a Program Type.

The unit starts to search for a station of the selected

Program Type and tunes in to the station.

* The Program Types are assigned to the preset station

buttons as follows:

Changing the Program Types assigned to

preset station buttons

You can assign one of the following Program Types to

each preset station button.

NEWS, AFFAIRS, INFO, SPORT, EDUCATE,

DRAMA, CULTURE, SCIENCE, VARIED, POP M,

ROCK M, EASY M, LIGHT M, CLASSICS, and

OTHER M

1 Turn off the unit.

2 Press and hold TA until “PRO-TYPE” appears on

the display.

3 While “PRO-TYPE” is displayed, press + or - to

select the desired Program Type.

4 While the selected Program Type is displayed, press

a desired preset station button for 2 or more seconds.

Adjusting the clock by Clock Time (CT)

service

The unit adjusts the clock automatically according to the

CT data sent from a currently tuned-in RDS station.

1 Press and hold TA, and then press AF during FM

reception until “CT” appears on the display.

2 Press + or - to select “ON.”

The clock is adjusted.

To turn off CT function, select “OFF” in step 2.

Notes

• In the following cases, the clock will not be adjusted:

— The tuned-in signal is too weak to activate this

function.

— The tuned-in station is not sending CT data.

• The clock may not always be correct even when CT

function is on.

Tips and other information

Presetting Alternative Frequency (AF) stations

automatically

Only the strongest frequencies among the AF stations

that are broadcasting the same program are selected

and assigned to each preset station button.

1 During FM reception, make sure that “AF” and/or

“TP” appear(s) on the display (see “Tuning in to

Alternative Frequency (AF) stations” and “Tuning in

to an EON Traffic Program (TP)”).

2 Press and hold PS/A.ME until Auto Memory for AF

stations starts.

Displaying a Program Service (PS) name

You can check the name of currently tuned-in station on

the display. When the unit is tuned in to an RDS station

sending PS data, the station name appears on the

display.

Note

In the following cases, the station name will not appear

on the display:

— The tuned-in signal is too weak to activate this function.

— The tuned-in station is not sending PS data.

Notes on emergency broadcasts

• The unit automatically switches to FM reception and

tunes in to emergency broadcast when it starts. When

the broadcast finishes, the unit automatically returns

to the previous state.

• Be sure to turn on AF function and TP function to

receive emergency broadcasts.

• During MW or LW reception, the unit will not tune in

to the urgent broadcast.

CD PLAYER OPERATION

Playing a CD

You can play CDs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs using the

procedure described below.

The front panel will be closed automatically and

“DISC” appears on the display.

CD play starts.

If a CD is already inserted, press SRC (SOURCE)

repeatedly to select CD play mode.

In normal play, when the last track finishes, the unit

returns to the first track and continues to play.

* When you remove the CD, the front panel will be

closed automatically after a while.

To close the front panel manually, press the panel

upward.

• When you play a CD that is already inserted, CD play

starts at the point where it stopped the previous time.

A newly inserted CD starts from the first track.

•A CD-R or CD-RW may take some time to start playing

back, but this is not a malfunction.

• If a CD-R or CD-RW with no data is inserted,

“ERROR03” will appear on the display. (See the section

“TROUBLESHOOTING”.) The unit cannot play such

discs.

Intro Play

You can locate a desired track by monitoring the first 10

seconds of all the tracks on a CD.

1 Press INT during CD play.

“INTRO” appears on the display.

2 Press INT again when the desired track is played.

The unit returns to normal CD play.

One Track Repeat Play

You can play a track repeatedly.

1 Press REP1 during CD play.

“REP1” appears on the display.

To cancel One Track Repeat Play, press REP1 again.

Shuffle Play

You can play all the tracks in random order.

1 Press SHUF during CD play.

“SHUF” appears on the display.

To cancel Shuffle Play, press SHUF again.

Note

During Shuffle Play, pressing r allows you to skip

only to the beginning of the current track, not to the

previous track.

AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT

Listening to a cassette/MD/MP3

portable player or other equipment

You can listen to music through equipment connected to

the unit. Refer to the operating instructions for the

corresponding equipment for more detailed information.

Be sure to remove any loaded CD to prevent possible

damage to the unit before connecting the equipment.

AUX IN jack

1 Connect a cassette/MD/MP3 portable player or other

equipment via the unit’s AUX IN jack (3.5 mm dia.).

2 Press SRC (SOURCE) repeatedly until “AUX IN”

appears on the display.

Note

When a connecting cord is plugged into the AUX IN jack,

you cannot insert or eject a CD even if you press z. Be

sure to disconnect the cord before inserting or ejecting

the CD. Likewise, be sure to disconnect it before you

turn off the ignition switch, otherwise the front panel

won’t be retracted.

Changing the key illumination color

You can choose blue or red as the key illumination color.

appears on the display.

2 Press t or r until “ILL” appears on the display.

3 Press + or - to select “1 (for blue)” or “2 (for red)”.

Setting the dimmer of the display

1 Press and hold S (SEL) until “DIMMER” appears on

the display.

2 Press + or - to select “0 (bright)” or “1 (dimmed)”.

Displaying the VU level indicator

1 Turn off the unit.

2 Press and hold PS until “VU” appears in the display.

3 Press + or - to select “ON” or “OFF”.

4 Press PS.

Muting the sound while using the phone

When the telephone mute lead (light blue) of the unit is

connected to a cellular phone hands-free car kit, etc.,

the unit mutes the sound from the speakers automatically

during your conversation on the cellular phone.

For details, refer to the separate “INSTALLATION AND

CONNECTIONS” for the unit and the instruction manual

for the cellular phone hands-free car kit.

Preparations

A lithium battery is installed in the remote control at the

factory.

Before you use the remote control, be sure to remove

the insulating sheet by simply pulling it out.

Replacing the battery

1 Insert the tip of a pointed object A into the hole B

and pull out the battery holder to remove the lithium

battery (CR2025).

2 Install a new lithium battery (CR2025) with the )

side facing up in the battery holder.

3 Push the battery holder into the unit until it clicks.

Note

When the infrared receptor on the main unit is exposed

to direct sunlight, it may not respond to signals from the

remote control.

CAUTIONS

• Lithium battery (CR2025) for the remote control

Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.

Replace only with the same or equivalent type

recommended by the manufacturer.

Discard used batteries according to the manufacturer’s

instruction.

• Keep the lithium battery out of the reach of children. If

swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

• To prevent a short circuit, never pinch the battery with

pliers, etc.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Error code

In the following cases the corresponding error code

indication appears. Follow the suggestions below to

solve such problems.

ERROR03 Focus error. Check that the CD is loaded

properly (right side up, etc.), and the CD

contains valid data.

If a CD does not operate properly, press the reset button

with a pointed object such as a pencil, etc. Note that all

your settings will be erased if this button is pressed.

Cleaning the front panel

Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid

cleaners or aerosol cleaners.

Cleaning the connectors

The connectors need to be cleaned occasionally. Wipe

the surface of the connectors with a cotton swab slightly

moistened with alcohol.

• Para limpiar un CD sucio, hágalo con un trapo de

adentro hacia fuera.

Nunca utilice disolventes como benceno o alcohol.

• Este aparato no puede reproducir CDs de 8 cm.

• NUNCA inserte CDs de 8 cm recubiertos por el

adaptador, ni CDs de formas irregulares.

El aparato puede no ser capaz de expulsarlo, y puede

haber problemas.

PRECAUTIONES

• Utilice el aparato solamente en un sistema eléctrico de

tierra negativa de 12 volt CC.

• Desconecte el terminal negativo de la batería del

vehículo antes de montar y conectar el aparato.

• Al cambiar el fusible, ponga uno de amperaje idéntico.

Si se utiliza un fusible de mayor amperaje, se pueden

producir serios daños en el aparato.

• NO intente desmontar el aparato. Los rayos láser de la

captación óptica son peligrosos para los ojos.

• Tenga cuidado de que no se metan alfileres u otros

objetos dentro del aparato: podrían causar desperfectos

o generar peligros como descargas eléctricas o

exposiciones a rayos láser.

• Cuando el vehículo haya sido aparcado al sol y se

haya producido un considerable aumento de la

temperatura interior, deje que el aparato se enfríe

antes de operarlo.

• Mantenga el volumen a un nivel que le permita oír los

sonidos de advertencia provenientes del exterior

(bocinas, sirenas, etc.).

Las modificaciones o ajustes que se hagan en este

producto, no aprobados expresamente por el fabricante,

pueden anular el derecho del usuario a operar el aparato.

Además de los discos compactos normales, pueden

leerse los CD-R o CD-RW en este aparato. Sin

embargo, NUNCA utilice un CD-R o CD-RW que no

contenga datos o con datos de un formato equivocado,

tales como MP3 u otros archivos de computadora.

Reposición de la unidad

Antes de utilizar la unidad por primera vez, o después de

haber reemplazado la batería del automóvil, tendrá que

reponer la unidad. Pulse el botón de reposición con un

objeto puntiagudo, como un lápiz.

Modo DEMO (Demostración)

La unidad tiene un modo de visualización extra (DEMO)

que demuestra los modos de iluminación del aparato. El

aparato cambia automáticamente al modo DEMO si se

enciende el aparato y se deja en ese estado durante

más de 5 segundos después de que todas las conexiones

se hayan completado.

Para cancelar el modo DEMO

1 Pulse y mantenga pulsado SRC (SOURCE) hasta

que en la pantalla aparezca “CONT.”.

2 Pulse t o r hasta que en la pantalla aparezca

“DEMO.”.

3 Pulse + o - para seleccionar “OFF”.

Para volver al modo DEMO, seleccione “ON” en el paso

(Consulte la ilustración en la página 3.)

PROTECCIÓN

ANTIRROBO

(Panel delantero retráctil)

Cuando se apaga el interruptor de contacto del automóvil,

el panel delantero se retrae automáticamente, y da la

impresión de que no hay aparato de audio en la consola.

Cuando el interruptor de contacto se coloca en la

posición ACC u ON, el panel delantero aparece

automáticamente.

Nota

No toque ni ejerza presión excesiva sobre el panel

delantero mientras el mismo está girando.

También puede separar la parte superior del panel

mientras aparezca el panel frontal.

Llévese el panel frontal consigo cuando abandone el

coche, y guárdelo en la caja que se le suministra.

Desmontaje de la careta frontal

Antes de desmontar la careta frontal, saque el disco

compacto para evitar que se pueda dañar el aparato.

1 Pulse z para sacar el disco compacto.

2 Presione hacia arriba el panel para cerrarlo.

3 Mantenga pulsado PWR/ATT hasta que se apague

el aparato.

4 Pulse RELEASE. (Sujete la careta con una mano

para evitar que se caiga accidentalmente.)

5 Desmonte la careta.

1 Pulse SRC (SOURCE).

Pulsando SRC (SOURCE) varias veces se recorre

un ciclo de modos fuentes en el siguiente orden:

* La expresión “DISC” no aparece en la pantalla cuando

no hay un disco compacto en el aparato.

Ajuste del volumen

1 Pulse + o -.

El indicador VOL (volumen) aparece.

Para silenciar el sonido

1 Pulse PWR/ATT brevemente.

Aparece “ATT ON” en la pantalla.

Para restablecer el volumen, pulse de nuevo

PWR/ATT brevemente.

Ajuste del sonido

Se pueden seleccionar los siguientes modos para el

ajuste de sonido dependiendo de la música que se

escuche: BASS (bajas frecuencias), TRE (altas

frecuencias), BAL (izquierdo/derecho), FAD (frontal/

trasero), H-BASS (super graves)*, DSSA (Ajuste del

Estado de Sonido del Conductor)** y BBE***.

* Se pueden reforzar los graves.

** Se puede ajustar el estado del sonido y balance del

tono para servir de la mejor forma a un asiento

particular en el automóvil.

*** Es posible mejorar la claridad del sonido de alta

frecuencia.

1 Pulse S (SEL) varias veces para seleccionar el

modo que desea ajustar.

Al pulsar

S (SEL)

se recorre un ciclo a través de los

modos. Aparecerá el modo seleccionado.

2 Pulse + o - para aumentar o disminuir el nivel del

modo seleccionado (salvo en los modos H-BASS,

DSSA y BBE).

En el modo H-BASS, pulse + o - para seleccionar

1, 2, 3, u OFF.

En el modo DSSA, pulse + o - para seleccionar

L (asiento delantero izquierdo), R (asiento delantero

derecho), u OFF.

En modo BBE, pulse + o - para seleccionar 1, 2,

u OFF.

• Ajuste el nivel o seleccione un artículo dentro de 5

segundos, o el modo seleccionado volverá a su estado

anterior.

• Cuando DSSA está activado, no se podrá ajustar BAL

ni FAD.

Instalación de la careta frontal

Si se apaga la llave de contacto cuando la parte

superior del panel no está puesta, la parte inferior del

panel se replegará automáticamente.

Si la llave de contacto está puesta en la posición ACC

u ON, la parte inferior del panel aparecerá

automáticamente. A continuación, una la parte superior

del panel.

1 Ponga la llave de contacto en la posición ACC u ON,

de tal manera que la parte inferior del panel aparezca.

2 Enganche el lado izquierdo de la careta frontal en el

gancho izquierdo del aparato.

3 Empuje la careta frontal hasta que quede trabada.

No pulse ningún botón cuando está instalando la

careta.

Nota

No toque los conectores en la parte inferior del panel

superior y en la parte superior del panel inferior. Esto

podría ocasionar una mala o defectuosa conexión.

Nivelación de las fuentes

El volumen puede variar cada vez que usted cambia el

modo fuente. En este caso, usted puede poner el

volumen de todos los modos fuente casi al mismo nivel.

BBE como también los niveles alineados de sonido de

origen.

1 Apague el aparato.

2 Pulse y mantenga apretado S (SEL) hasta que la

expresión “BEEP” aparezca en la pantalla indicadora.

Sintonización de emisoras de

frecuencias alternativas (AF)

Hay programas transmitidos en diferentes frecuencias,

en diferentes áreas. Junto con el programa de radio en

sí, la emisora RDS envía primero los datos de lista AF

que contiene las frecuencias que envían el mismo

programa. Si la señal de la frecuencia sintonizada se

vuelve débil durante la conducción, la unidad busca

automáticamente el mismo programa enviado en otra

frecuencia más fuerte, de acuerdo con la lista AF, para

que no tenga que buscar y sintonizar nuevamente la

otra frecuencia.

1 Presione AF durante la recepción FM para activar la

función AF.

Se apaga “BOOST 40” después de unos 5 segundos.

Ajuste del reloj con el servicio de hora

del reloj (CT)

La unidad ajusta automáticamente el reloj de acuerdo

con los datos CT enviados de una emisora RDS

sintonizada actualmente.

1 Mantenga presionado TA y presione AF durante la

recepción de FM hasta que aparezca “CT” en la

pantalla.

2 Pulse + o - para seleccionar “ON”.

Se ajusta el reloj.

Para desconectar la función CT, seleccione “OFF” en

el paso 2.

Notas

• No se ajustará el reloj en los siguientes casos:

— La señal sintonizada es demasiado débil como

para activar esta función.

— La emisora sintonizada no envía los datos CT.

• El reloj puede no ser siempre el correcto cuando la

función CT está activada.

Prefijado automático de emisoras de

frecuencia alternativa (AF)

Sólo las frecuencias más fuertes de las emisoras AF

que están transmitiendo el mismo programa se

seleccionan y asignan a cada botón de emisora prefijada.

1 Durante la recepción en FM, compruebe que aparece

“AF” y/o “TP” en la pantalla (vea “Sintonización de

emisoras de frecuencias alternativas (AF)” y la

“Sintonización de un EON, programa de tráfico

(TP)”).

2 Mantenga presionado PS/A.ME hasta que empiece

la memorización automática de emisoras AF.

Indicación del nombre de Servicio de

programa (PS)

Se puede verificar el nombre de la emisora sintonizada

actualmente. Cuando se sintoniza una emisora RDS

que envía datos PS, aparece el nombre de la emisora

en la pantalla.

Nota

En los siguientes casos, el nombre de la emisora no

aparecerá en la pantalla:

— La señal sintonizada está demasiado débil como

para activar esta función.

— La emisora sintonizada no envía datos PS.

Notas sobre transmisiones de emergencia

• La unidad cambia automáticamente a la recepción FM

y sintoniza una emisora de emergencia cuando

empieza. Cuando termina la transmisión, la unidad

vuelve automáticamente al estado anterior.

• Active la función AF y la función TP para recibir

transmisiones de emergencia.

• Durante la recepción MW o LW, la unidad no sintoniza

emisoras de emergencia.

Para cerrar el panel frontal manualmente, empuje el

panel hacia arriba.

Notas

• Cuando se hace sonar un CD que ya estaba dentro del

aparato, la reproducción comienza en el punto donde

se paró la última vez. Un CD recién introducido

comienza por la primera sección.

• Un CD-R o CD-RW puede tardar un rato en activarse,

pero esto no implica un mal funcionamiento.

• Si se introduce un CD-R o CD-RW sin datos grabados,

la expresión “ERROR03” aparece en la pantalla.

El aparato no puede reproducir tales discos.

Localización inicial

Se puede localizar una sección o canción determinada

escuchando los 10 primeros segundos de todas las

secciones del CD.

2 Vuelva a pulsar INT cuando se llegue a la sección

deseada.

EQUIPOS ACCESORIOS

Para escuchar reproductores portátiles

de cintas/MD/MP3 y otros equipos

Se pueden escuchar otros equipos conectándolos al

aparato. Consulte las instrucciones de manejo de los

equipos respectivos para una información más detallada.

Asegúrese de sacar los CDs colocados para evitar un

posible daño al aparato antes de conectar el equipo.

Enchufe AUX IN

1 Conecte el reproductor portátil de cintas/MD/MP3 u

otro equipo al enchufe AUX IN (3,5 mm de diámetro)

del aparato.

2 Pulse SRC (SOURCE) varias veces hasta que la

expresión “AUX IN” aparezca en la pantalla.

Nota

Cuando se enchufa un cable de conexión en la enchufe

AUX IN, no se puede insertar ni expulsar un CD aunque

se pulse z. Asegúrese de desconectar el cable antes

de insertar o expulsar el CD. De la misma forma,

asegúrese de desconectarlo antes de apagar el

interruptor de contacto, porque de lo contrario el panel

delantero no se retraerá.

Ajuste del reductor de intensidad de la

1 Mantenga pulsado S (SEL) hasta que aparezca

“DIMMER” en la pantalla.

2 Pulse + o - para seleccionar “0 (brillante)” o

“1 (oscuro)”.

1 Desconecte la alimentación de la unidad.

2 Mantenga presionado PS hasta que en el

visualizador aparezca “VU”.

3 Pulse + o - para seleccionar “ON” u “OFF”.

4 Pulse PS.

Para silenciar el sonido mientras se usa

el teléfono

Cuando el cable silenciador (azul claro) del aparato está

conectado a un equipo de teléfono celular de manos

libres para coche o equipo similar, el aparato silencia el

sonido de los altavoces automáticamente durante las

conversaciones por el teléfono celular.

Preparativos

Se ha instalado en fábrica una pila de litio en el control

remoto.

Antes de utilizar el control remoto, asegúrese de sacar

la hoja de aislación, tirando de ésta.

Cambio de la pila

1 Inserte la punta de un objeto puntiagudo A en el

orificio B y saque el portapila para sacar la pila de

litio (CR2025).

2 Instale una nueva pila de litio (CR2025) con el lado

) hacia arriba en el portapila.

3 Empuje el portapila en el aparato hasta que se

escuche un chasquido.

Nota

Cuando el receptor de rayos infrarrojos de la unidad

principal esté expuesto a la luz solar directa, es posible

que no responda a las señales procedentes del

controlador remoto.

PRECAUCIONES

• Pila de litio (CR2025) para el controlador remoto

Si reemplazase incorrectamente la pila, existiría el

riesgo de explosión. Reemplácela solamente por otra

del mismo tipo o de un tipo equivalente recomendado

por el fabricante.

Deshágase de de las pilas usadas de acuerdo con las

instrucciones del fabricante.

• Guarde la pila de litio lejos del alcance de los niños. Si

se traga, consulte inmediatamente con un médico.

• Para evitar un cortocircuito, no tome la pila con pinzas,

etc.
